The tour fee is per person and varies according to the number of people in your party. We do, however, offer a shared Marrakech to Fes desert excursion at fixed costs.
During the spring and summer, pick-up from Fes is more flexible. We recommend that you leave Fes no later than 08h00 AM in the winter to reach at Merzouga by sunset.

6 HOURS DRIVE
Your Marrakech to Fes desert tour kicks off from your hotel or riad at 08h00 AM. First, cruise through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m high). Enjoy the scenery, passing beautiful mud-brick Berber villages and shepherds grazing their flocks in green plateaus with snow-topped peaks on the horizon. Make numerous stops for photos, leg stretches, and coffee breaks. By noon, reach the UNESCO world heritage village of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – a setting for Hollywood blockbusters like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Games of Thrones. After a guided visit, head to Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa) for lunch and a visit to the oasis of Skoura and the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil. Move on to Kalaa Mgouna via the Valley of the Roses before reaching your cozy guest house in Dades Valley for dinner and a comfy overnight stay.
4 HOURS DRIVE
Day two of your Marrakech to Fes Sahara desert tour begins with a drive along the road of 1001 Kasbahs to Tinghir oasis. Enjoy the amazing scenery of fortified villages that once hosted caravan roads. Upon arriving at Tinghir, a former military post during French occupation, take a detour into a secondary road to reach the oasis. Stroll by the stream, watching locals farm and herd cattle. The walk concludes at one of the most magnificent scenes of your tour: Todgha Gorges. After a leisurely lunch at a local café, continue to Rissani, one of Morocco’s holiest towns and the starting point of ancient caravan roads to Tombouctou. In the afternoon, cross rocky terrain to Merzouga, where your camel caravan awaits. Before reaching your Sahara desert camp, enjoy a camel ride over the Erg Chebbi dunes to witness an amazing sunset. Have dinner under the stars while your local nomad hosts play drums all night. Spend the night in your Sahara desert camp, Merzouga.
8 HOURS DRIVE
Wake up early for a fantastic sunrise camel trek over the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Reach the camp operator’s lodge in Merzouga for breakfast and a shower (If you upgrade to the luxury camp, breakfast is at the camp, with showers available in your tent). Meet your driver/guide and embark on a scenic drive to Fes via the Ziz Valley through Errachidia, the capital of the Tafilalt region. Continue to Midelt for leisurely lunch before driving across the Middle Atlas Mountains with Cedar Forests and Berber towns of Imouzzar and Ifran, famous winter ski resorts for Moroccans. Your driver may spot Barbary apes on the way, providing a photo opportunity. Arrive in Fes late that afternoon, concluding your desert tour with a drop-off at your hotel or riad.
